The economic briefing to be held on May 18 is a joint initiative between Universitas and YEP. The Young Entrepreneurs of Pampanga or YEP is a group of young men and women in the province of Pampanga who own and operate their respective businesses, or actively participate in the businesses of their families.

YEP was founded in 2016 by Gab Hipolito and Paolo Carlos, with the aim of creating camaraderie and building good relationships among the young businessmen and women in Pampanga. In light of the goal of extending support to its members as well as providing them an avenue for exchanging ideas and learnings, YEP has been organizing monthly dinner meetings where its members discuss about matters and experiences relating to their business.

Just this past month (March 2018), YEP has conducted a workshop on the newly enacted Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN). YEP has also conducted fellowship seminars for its members, and co-organized a charity event with Charis Foundation, Inc. The upcoming economic briefing is intended to form part of YEP’s celebration of its second anniversary as an organization.

Universitas’ participation in this project is prompted by  its goal of forming future leaders with the necessary competence and right values.  Dr. Villegas has been one of Universitas’ key speakers in many of its activities, and has now offered to bring him to Pampanga to orient future business leaders there through YEP and other key business men and women of the place.
