Universitas looks at three pillars in assessing the level of each application: (1) Capacity Building, (2) Research and Communication, and (3) Compassion (Social Welfare and Outreach). Each applicant graduates to the distinction of being an Associate or a Fellow depending on his/her accomplishments and the approval of the corresponding body as indicated below.
JUNIOR ASSOCIATE
- Pre-application requirements:
- Junior high school diploma, or higher;
- Any of the following: (a) A stellar academic performance or achievements in any semester, year or batch attended; or (b) Occupied or is occupying a leadership role in an organization or community; or (c) A citation of a particular scholarship or leadership capability;
- One-page essay on any topic related to the Foundational Principles of Universitas, or an article posted in the Universitas website;
- Curriculum vitae with a photo;
- Interview with the UFP Facilitators
- Once accepted, the applicant has to accomplish the following:
- Complete the Principled Leadership Course (Foundational Course);
- Complete the Back-to-the-Basics: Principles and Values of Nation Building Course;
- Complete the No Holds Barred sessions (under the Mentoring program);
- Participate in all UFN (Universitas Fellows Night);
- Complete the Batch Output
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
- Pre-application requirements:
- Applicant must be a Junior Associate;
- Endorsement from the Director of UFP;
- Interview with the designated panel by the UFP Facilitators
- Once accepted, the applicant has to accomplish the following:
- Participate in at least six UFN (Universitas Fellows Night)
- Publish an article in the Universitas website, or an article or letter to the editor in a reputable paper on a topic previously approved by the staff of UFP or the Research Team of Universitas; a previously-published article may be accepted upon the approval of the Research Director of Universitas or his Deputy;
- Attendance to at least one socio-civic project of Universitas, or at least three socio-civic projects from other accredited institutions; or conduct at least one Campus Reach Out;
- internship with Universitas equivalent to at least five (5) Activities, Projects, Programs, or any combination of the three.
- Finish the Great Books Seminar 1.
JUNIOR FELLOW
- Pre-application requirements:
- Applicant must be a Senior Associate;
- Has brought at least one applicant for UFP;
- Membership in one of the research groups of Universitas;
- Endorsement from a Fellow;
- Interview with ManCom.
- Once accepted, the applicant has to accomplish the following:
- Regular attendance to the UFN (Universitas Fellows Night);
- Conduct a Principled Leadership Course, or hold a Basic Course of Back-to-the-Basics, or conduct mentoring using No Holds Barred to at least one person;
- Publish any of the following: (a) at least one academic paper in the Universitas website or an online or print journal on any topic approved by the Research Director of Universitas or his Deputy; (b) one technical development (mobile app, website, etc.) that helps promote the vision-mission of the Foundation, approved by the Chief Media Officer of Universitas; or (c) a previously-published academic/research article/paper or technical development platform, with the approval of the ManCom;
- Handle at least one APP in Universitas.
- Finish the Great Books Seminar 2.
SENIOR FELLOW
- Pre-application requirements:
- Applicant must be a Junior Fellow;
- Has completed graduate studies (at least a Master’s degree or its equivalent);
- Endorsement from a Senior or Honorary Fellow;
- Has brought at least three applicants for UFP;
- Interview with the ExeCom
- Once accepted, the applicant has to accomplish the following:
- Organize a Capacity Building course/seminar in Universitas or another organization, with the approval of the ManCom;
- Deliver a lecture/symposium/colloquium on a topic approved by the Research Director of Universitas or the ManCom;
- Publish at least three articles, and active involvement in one of the research groups of Universitas.
- Attend at least one international seminar among the partner institutes of Universitas abroad, or other institutions approved by the Director of the International Linkages Program (ILP) of Universitas;
HONORARY FELLOW
- Pre-application requirements:
- Doctoral degree holder on any field or its equivalent (like law and medicine) from a reputable institution of higher learning, or a special citation/distinction from a reputable institution or award-giving body.
- Recommendation letter from a distinguished member of one’s field of specialization, work or industry, or an endorsement from a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Universitas;
- Curriculum vitae with a photo;
- Interview with a member of the Board of Trustees of Universitas (not the one who gave the endorsement).
- Once accepted, the applicant has to accomplish any of the following:
- Organize a Capacity Building course in Universitas or another organization, with the approval of the ExeCom;
- Publish an article on a topic approved by the Research Director of Universitas;
- Deliver a lecture/symposium/colloquium on a topic approved by the ExeCom;
- Act as Adviser of an APP in Universitas;
- Active involvement in the Board of Advisers (BOA) of Universitas.
